CastCutPrivacy
Short version: your footage, audio, transcripts and projects stay on your Mac. We never see them.
The app
- All analysis (sync, voices, faces, transcription, the editing AI) runs locally on your Mac.
- When you activate a license, the key and a label for your Mac (its name) go to Polar to confirm the purchase. CastCut re-checks the key about once a week.
- CastCut looks at getcastcut.com/latest.json to see if an update exists. That request carries nothing about you or your work.
- The AI models download once from Hugging Face when you first find moments.
- No analytics, no crash reporting, no tracking in the app.
This website
We count page visits with privacy-friendly analytics that use no cookies and store no personal data. Payments are handled by Polar, which acts as the seller and collects what it needs to process your order and taxes.
